Dogzone dog grooming - About us
My name is Diane Hunter and I am a City & Guilds advanced qualified dog groomer. I have been a dog groomer for around 14 years starting from my love of Airedale Terriers. This led to my hobby of preparing my own dogs for the show ring and from there my career in dog grooming began. I work with my new recruit Rachael Fludder who is already quite well known in the area being very experienced in all aspects of handling dogs. Rachael prepares her Old English Sheepdog and Australian Shepherds for the showring and handles her own and other people's dogs. She also runs local ring craft classes. She will over the next year be completing her intermediate City & Guilds Certificate and we are very lucky to have her. It is our aim to continue striving to provide the best possible service for you and your dog and many of our clients have been recommended by existing customers.
Our aim is to provide a secure and stress free environment for your dog. We try and keep the working relationship fun helping to develop a more relaxed atmosphere for your dog. Although it is not possible ,due to room and insurance, ( and we do not recommend anyway ) for you to stay with your dog, we have nothing to hide and customers to our pet shop frequently take a peek while we are working.
It is the rare dog that actually enjoys their grooming session as some liken us to a visit to the vet but together we can help ease their fears. I have frequently taken on dogs who have had difficulties elsewhere and slowly but surely, they have improved. Some have reported having to drag their dogs in before but have found this eased when re-visiting us. Aggresive or nervous dogs are scared and in most cases with the right handling, they can be helped through their grooming session. We believe in firm but kind handling.
We are fully insured and members of the Pet Care Trust and British Dog Groomers Association.
